JUN TAN

His working field:landscape architect

Olympic Park Key Opinion Leader

Committed to:Community group buying

Jun has lived in the Olympic Park community for 2 years. He finds it very inconvenient to do the shopping in the surrounding communities, especially for immigrants, where there is not enough variety of fresh meat and fruit to choose. After participating in the community’s fresh meat group buying which was organised by Triple S Local and an enthusiastic resident of Wentworth Point Neneko, he has gradually taken over and become a famous group-buying man in the area, conducting a series of community group buying activities for everyone including fresh meat, fruit, rice dumplings, etc. In the future, he wishes to establish more abundant and affordable community group-buying platforms in three nearby communities in order to deliver a more convenient experience to all, and he also wishes to carry out more interesting community activities through community groups.

It has been less than half a year since Andy joined the Wentworth Point community. He finds that many Chinese students and young professionals live in nearby communities, and there is a general need to find jobs or seek higher stages of development. He wants to help them grow network, learn from each other and make progress by means of arranging events for young professionals. Meanwhile, as a local street performer in Sydney, he also hopes to motivate musicians or singers of neighbouring communities to provide high-quality music activities or performances for residents and enrich their lives.

clement lun

Clement Lun

Field: IT Professional/film industry

Wentworth Point Key Opinion Leader

Committed to:Community livelihood and political issues

Clement has been a resident of Wentworth Point for 11 years with his wife and daughter. He watched this suburb flourish from 1,000 to about 12,000 people. When he first moved into the area in 2008, the suburb was called Homebush Bay, there were no residential buildings beyond Baywater Drive, and the suburb did not have any public bus routes. In recent years, he became active within the community because he would like to make a contribution to the improvement of this area. He is currently on two Strata Committees, the Harbourside Community Association Committee, Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 Stakeholders Group and a member of the Wentworth Point Public School P&C. He is also co-admin of two Wentworth Point based Facebook groups. In the future, he will continue community advocacy to improve our local infrastructure for our growing population, in particular focusing on transport and education. He also wants to educate the community in regards to the complex layers of jurisdiction within Wentworth Point (eg. CAs, Council, State Govt and SOPA).
